Celebrate the greatest event in history!

An event that has become an Easter tradition in Scotland, RESURRECTION brings together Christians from all over the central belt to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus in an evening of music and worship on Easter Sunday.

It is led by the Origin Scotland band, choir and orchestra, and held annually in one of the world's great concert halls, home to the Edinburgh Festival - the Usher Hall.

An event that unites the Church around the great central truth of the Gospel, it declares to the world: Christ is risen.

Speaker: Kenny Borthwick
Kenny has been a Church of Scotland minister for over forty years. As well as being a parish minister, he has been involved in conferences and leaders retreats in the UK and beyond, including being leader of C.L.A.N. Gathering. Ill health, while ministering in Wester Hailes Edinburgh, meant having to retire from full time ministry in 2016. He is now very happily part of the preaching and teaching team of Martin's Memorial Church of Scotland in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, and still in demand for events further afield. He is married to Morag, and they have two adult children, Sarah and David. He enjoys frequenting cafes and posting impromptu spur-of-the-moment vlogs on faith, life and all matters "church" in Scotland.

Worship Leader: Fiona Crow
Fiona is the Worship Pastor at St Mungo's Church and also leads worship at events and conferences across the UK. For several years she has written and recorded as part of Elim's worship collective 'Elim Sound' as well as releasing albums as an independent solo artist. Fiona lives in Edinburgh with her husband Geoff and their two children.

Worship Leader: Allan McKinlay
Allan is a worship leader & songwriter from Scotland. He has been leading worship for over 25 years and has traveled & ministered across the world. Having lived in California USA for the past 4 years, Allan and his family have recently moved back to Scotland, and have started their own itinerant ministry called Wildfire establishing worship gatherings throughout the country.

Soloist: Steph Macleod
Steph is a Scottish singer-songwriter, worship leader and mental health awareness advocate. His music is rooted in the rough and raw experiences that led him to Christ; from broken family relationships to homelessness and addiction, He has also regularly featured on the BBC and UCB among others. He recently launched his own podcast "This Is My Story, This Is My Song", a space dedicated to honest conversations about various life journeys towards faith, the role of creativity in hardships and mental health. Steph Macleod is part of the Integrity Music family.

Conductor: Kevin Flynn
Kevin is standing in to conduct at this event, but is usually a member of the orchestra, playing in the woodwind section. Kevin studied saxophone at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with subsidiary studies in flute and clarinet, and has performs in musical theatre, concert orchestras, jazz groups, and contemporary music ensembles. He is an accomplished pianist, playing for function bands, recitals, and leading the worship ministry at Harper Church, Glasgow. His education work is equally varied, covering secondary music teaching, instrumental music teaching, work with Sistema Scotland, and coaching ensembles.

Artistic Director: Colin Peckham
Colin founded Origin in 1997. He studied music at Edinburgh University and theology with the University of South Africa. He served as a music advisor and worship leader for the III Lausanne Congress on World Evangelisation and has directed many orchestras including the All Souls Orchestra and the Cape Town Philharmonic. He is the director of the Cape Town Gospel Choir. He's never happier than when he is writing orchestrations of congregational songs to lift and inspire. He is a missionary with Artists in Christian Testimony Intl, married to Norma with a son.

Choir Director: Jamie Lang
Jamie is a piano teacher and accompanist at an Edinburgh school, and is music director at Musselburgh Baptist Church. He joined the Origin leadership team in 2020.

Band Leader: David Biddulph
Dave leads the band from the bass guitar and has served as Origin's band director and manager since 2002. His day job is as the centre manager for Bethany Christian Trust.
